Use your arms to throw/pull yourself forward, some people jump further if they squat lower just before they jump and the most important thing is still pulling yourself forward with your arms. I also learnt that I should bring my knees up too my chest when I jump.
I need to swing my arms and bounce my legs a bit more to get momentum but not too much or momentum will be lost. I also should tuck in my legs while in mid-air and stretch my legs forward when I am about to land.
Reading online discussions, I found out that many suggested that if you want to scored well for standing board jump, do tuck jumps ( tucking in your leg to your chest when you jump ).
- in order to jump high, I have to bring my knees up to my chest while jumping - tuck jump may help in strengthening my skills - use my arms to "throw" myself forward - aim far - squat lower
To be able to jump further, I have to swing my arms more for more momentum, tuck in my legs to be able to go further, and jump higher for a further distance.
To improve the distance I have jumped today, I can jump high and jump further by looking forward. I can also swing my arms before I jump, and do a tuck jump so that I can improve my distance. When we are about to jump, we have to "take off" at 45 degrees, just like when we are about to throw the javelin.
I think I can improve by swing my arms and squatting and time properly, because I jumped way too early in the jump causing me to be a few cm short than what I got in the previous attempt.I need to look up before I jump and lift my knees up to my chest to get more air time.
To improve, I can 1) Bring my legs up to my chest 2) I can swings my arms more before I jump. 3) I could have look at something far to improve my distance. 4) I could have done tuck-jumps before I did the standing broadjump
I can use my arms to throw/pull myself forward, Some people jump further if they squat lower just before they jump, I guess I can try that... But the most important thing is still pulling myself forward with my arms.
I can use my arms to gain momentum and then thrust out my legs as far as possible when jumping. Also, visualising that one can be able to jump further is also better.
I need to train myself. I think that my distance was quite good. I improved by 5cm from the last time i did Standing Broad Jump. I need to work on my legs. I think my technique is quite ok but I need to improve my takeoff.

ReplyDeleteuse your arms for momentum, and doing tuck jumps can help some people, as they need to jump higher to jump further.

2) Bend your legs before jumping.
3) Look straight ahead.
4) Bring your legs towards your chest when jumping.

ReplyDeleteThe arms that take you higher
Do some Tuck-jumps, climb more stairs.
I can try jumping more, practice on my biceps, practice squatting, swinging my arms and jumping.

ReplyDeleteI need to lift my arms higher as Mr Aidil said and I also have to be able to swing my arms forward harder and swat lower my I jump.
ReplyDeleteI need to work on training my leg muscles, and bring my chest to my knees. I should also train on my confidence.
ReplyDeleteControl the way we lift off, making sure the crouch makes us go the distance we want

ReplyDelete1) Get momentum before jumping by swinging arms
ReplyDelete2) Look ahead, not at your feet
